Temporary simultaneous evacuation fire marshals
When a building has moved from a stay put to a temporary simultaneous evacuation strategy, our trained fire marshals provide the on-site cover, delivered in line with the NFCC Simultaneous Evacuation Guidance.
What you get
Waking watch
Fire marshals patrol the building, detect fire, raise the alarm and alert residents so evacuation can start promptly.
Evacuation management
A separate, clearly defined role: coordinating the evacuation, supporting residents who need help and briefing the fire and rescue service.
Building-specific training
Marshals are briefed on your building's layout, alarm arrangements and evacuation plan before their first shift.
Resident communication
Residents know how the alarm will be raised, what to do and who to contact.
Clear records
Patrols and incidents are logged digitally, giving the Responsible Person evidence of cover.
A temporary measure
NFCC guidance treats this as an interim step, so we support your move to a common fire alarm system.
Responsible Persons should read the current guidance at nfcc.org.uk.

Questions
When is this cover needed?
When a building designed for a stay put strategy needs a temporary change to simultaneous evacuation, for example while fire safety defects are being put right.
Is this a permanent solution?
No. NFCC guidance treats it as temporary and encourages a common fire alarm system, which we can support you in moving to.
